Beach Vacations

A vacation is what you take when you can no longer take what you've been taking..

The Art of Travel

Travel, in the younger sort, is a part of education; in the elder, a part of experience.

The Art of Travel

The traveler sees what he sees, the tourist sees what he has come to see.

The Art of Travel

Every luxury must be paid for, and everything is a luxury, starting with being in this world.

The Bird Quotes

The closer the bird is to the surface of the water, the firmer and more inelastic is the uplift of the rising air. The bird appears to almost feel the surface with the tip of its weather wing.

12 Ways to Get Rid Of A Bad Mood

Tips to improve your mood

Beating a bad mood is not easy, but the only person that can get you out of the bad mood is yourself! Here are a dozen mood tips to drag yourself out of your foul mood and into a more positive frame of mind.
We've all been there: something annoying or frustrating happens and as a result we spend the rest of the day in a foul mood. And the additionally frustrating thing is, someone can often know they’re in a bad mood, but be unable to snap out of it.
However, you and others around you don’t have to put up with those foul moods; instead, you can do something about them. By following our top 12 tips to beat a bad mood, you will be able to deal with your bad mindset in a number different ways — so if one doesn’t work, another one will!

Bad mood tip 1: Talk about what has put you in a bad mood

If you are in a bad mood, then there’s obviously a reason for it. Pinpoint why you’re in a bad mood and, if you can, talk to a friend about it. Simply talking about your problem with someone will make you feel many times better. After all, what they say about ‘a problem shared is a problem halved’ rings very true. But if you can’t talk to a friend, try going outside and letting out a mighty scream or having a good cry. Remember that bottling it all up will only darken your mood — so let it out!
Talking through your problems is a good way to beat a bad mood

Bad mood tip 2: Beat a bad mood with exercise

Exercise is a great way to get you out of a bad mood. If you can make yourself do some exercise, you will reap the benefits. Exercise releases endorphins, which are chemicals in your brain that make you feel good — so by doing some exercise you will automatically make yourself feel better. A game of squash could be a good option, as you’ll be able to take your bad mood out on the ball. On the other hand, if you take your sport too seriously and are a bad loser, then a non-competitive form of exercise may be the best way to go.

Bad mood tip 3: Eat chocolate to make you feel better

It’s amazing how many people instantly reach for their favourite chocolate for comfort if they are feeling low. It’s probably not a bad thing to do, though, as chocolate is known to be responsible for positive mood-lifting effects due to the release of serotonin, the brain’s natural pick-me-up. If you find that chocolate does the trick for you, then a little of it can be no bad thing. However, if you’re the sort who ends up with pang of guilt, then it’s best that you give it a miss.

Bad mood tip 4: Think about less fortunate people

If you’re in a really bad mood, it may be because you think everything is going wrong for you. What you need to do in this case is to regain your sense of perspective on life. Take a stroll, maybe in your lunch time, and have a look at the people around you. Chances are you’ll probably pass by at least one person who would probably settle for your problems and a roof over their head. Or you might see someone disabled or elderly struggling to get into a shop. If you can, get a sense of perspective — then things may not seem so bad after all!

Bad mood tip 5: Beat a bad mood by blasting out some 'positive' music

Everybody has some favourite tunes to listen to, from rousing classical music compositions to bouncing pop tunes. Listening to one of your favourite tracks — such as one that you associate with a happy time in your life — will help draw you out of your bad mood. And why not go one step further by belting out your favourite tune at the top of your voice? You could even do this if you feel yourself being drawn into a bad mood while stuck in traffic — as long as you don’t mind being a source of amusement to other motorists.

Bad mood tip 6: Get more light to improve your mood

At certain times of the year — particularly around winter — the lack of daylight hours can have a negative impact on your mood. Some people even get seasonal affective disorder (SAD), which is even worse. Whether or not you get SAD, it’s always good to get more light into your life. You could try to get out more during daylight hours, as this is known to improve mood — and you might also want to add some additional lighting and brighter colours into your home.

Bad mood tip 7: Take time out to improve your mood

Give yourself a chance to blank out all your negative thoughts by taking a few moments out and doing something different. For example, take half an hour out to have a soak in the tub — it can work wonders and help soothe both the body and mind. And why not get some candles out and have a glass of wine at the same time? If you’re in a bad mood, it’s sometimes good not to be around other people until you have got it out of your system. If you stay around people, you may cause a ruction which will, in turn, add to your bad mood.
Taking time out can improve your mood

Bad mood tip 8: Avoid people who put you in a bad mood

It might seem obvious, but there are people who just have an ability to put you in a bad mood. Okay, so some situations can’t be avoided — for example a work colleague or your boss — but there will be others in your social life who you can avoid. Some people can drain you and leave you in a bad mood — including some people who you are friends with! It’s best to avoid these people when you can — or at least keep your contact with them to a minimum.

Bad mood tip 9: Make contact with positive people

The flipside of avoiding negative people is making contact with positive ones. There are some people out there who have a very positive influence on us. They are the sort you probably never argue with, or the type of people that have you cracking up with their sense of humour. It may be that you’ve lost touch with them recently, so why not look them up and give yourself a boost. Don’t be waiting for them to make the first move — do it yourself. Surrounding yourself with positive people will have a positive effect on your mood.

Bad mood tip 10: Get a pet to help your mood

Studies have found that pets can actually help us feel better. For starters, animals do some pretty funny things at times, which will help to make you laugh. Even stroking a pet is known to lower heart rate, making you calmer. And if you get yourself a dog that requires plenty of walks, this will mean you get some exercise and daylight — which will further enhance your good mood.

Bad mood tip 11:  Think happy thoughts

If you can take yourself back to a time when you were happy, then this will instantly fill you with happy thoughts. If you need a prompt, why not dig out some old photographs of great times that you’ve had? Being in a bad mood is avoidable if you rid yourself or intruding bad thoughts and replace them with good ones. It really comes down to choice — choose to think of unhappy thoughts and you will be unhappy, and vice versa. People are only as happy as they allow themselves to be!

Bad mood tip 12:  Try to avoid worrying

Worry is one of the major causes of unhappiness — so eradicating it will definitely improve your mood. The simple answer is to stop worrying — after all, worrying doesn’t actually help in any way at all. If it’s something that you can deal with at the time, then do it, and hopefully that will end the worry. If you can’t deal with it at that moment in time, then think of potential solutions and be optimistic rather than worrying excessively about a problem.

A final word about improving your mood

Anyone can become more upbeat and optimistic just by using some of the techniques mentioned above. When you try some of them, you will inevitably feel a burden lift off your shoulders and become more positive. The key to it all is an optimistic outlook. Accepting that bad moods are an inevitable part of life can immediately lessen the impact of a bad mood — and having an optimistic outlook means you’re more likely to actively look on the bright side.

The Story of a Blind Girl

There was a blind girl who hated herself just because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her. She said that if she could only see the world, she would marry her boyfriend.

One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her and then she could see everything, including her boyfriend. Her boyfriend asked her, “now that you can see the world, will you marry me?”

The girl was shocked when she saw that her boyfriend was blind too, and refused to marry him. Her boyfriend walked away in tears, and later wrote a letter to her saying:

“Just take care of my eyes dear.”

This is how human brain changes when the status changed. Only few remember what life was before, and who’s always been there even in the most painful situations.

Life Is A Gift

Today before you think of saying an unkind word–
think of someone who can’t speak.

Before you complain about the taste of your food–
think of someone who has nothing to eat.

Before you complain about your husband or wife–
think of someone who is crying out to God for a companion.

Today before you complain about life–
think of someone who went too early to heaven.

Before you complain about your children–
think of someone who desires children but they’re barren.

Before you argue about your dirty house, someone didn’t clean or sweep–
think of the people who are living in the streets.

Before whining about the distance you drive–
think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.

And when you are tired and complain about your job–
think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job.

But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another–
remember that not one of us are without sin and we all answer to one maker.

And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down–
put a smile on your face and thank God you’re alive and still around.

Life is a gift – Live it, Enjoy it, Celebrate it, and Fulfill it.

Don't Judge A Person By Their Looks

Clothes are everywhere.
You may not be interested - or they may be the most important thing in your life - whether you're a fashion-concious kind of person, or a I-Really-Don't-Give-The-Foggiest-About-Clothes kind of person, everyone wears clothes. Otherwise we'd be going around a little like this..

That's an image from the story; The Emperor's New Clothes.
We don't want that.
So whoever you are, you wear clothes, whether you like it or not. Over the past 100 years, fashion has evolved. It's gone from...
To this...
To what we typically have nowadays...
Everyone has different styles - some may prefer a more laid back jeans and a t-shirt look, whilst others like the prom dress and converse kind of style.
My style's quite quirky. I'm the sort of lacy dress plus boots girl, the jeans and a lacey top girl, I don't dress to impress, and my style's different to other people. I don't wear make-up, but out and about you'll see lots of people that do.
Now, let's look at how make-up has evolved.
So that was Victorian. We can see very simple lipstick, and not much else.

Then let's take a look at around 1950ish...
We can now see a more shiny, red lipstick, plus eyeliner and mascara.

Finally, modern days...
We can see bright lipstick plus gloss, blusher, foundation, mascara, possible falsh eyelashes, eyeliner, eyeshadow and so much more.

So, you see, the world's fashion and make-up has changed drastically. Everyone has a different look, something that defines them as unique, something that makes that person who they are.

Clothes are an expression of who you are. A hint into your mind, your feelings, who you are. A person can be completely guessed by their clothing. People are obviously judged by what they wear on their faces and bodies. Let's take a look at the image below. Who do you percept this person as from what they wear?
We automatically think - black hoodie - dodgy. We don't know anything about this boy. He could be anyone - there could be a perfectly rational reason why he's wearing this hoodie - but clothes and make-up send messages to our brain, like with this boy - trouble. Let's take a look at another picture.
From this picture we see glasses, braces, cheesy smile, white shirt, no make-up and pigtails. We think geek, clever girl with no social life. Am I correct?

So, you see, perceptions of characters and personalities are judged on all sorts of things, looks particularly. What you wear makes a big impact on what people think of you, like it or not. Nowadays, what people see is what they expect to get. A blonde girl? She's an idiot. A boy with long-ish hair, who sings and hangs out with girls? Automatically Gay. A girl who wears black? Emo who self harms.
The blonde girl could be an A* student at Oxford - it just so happens she has blonde hair.
The boy who's apparently gay could be the next big superstar - maybe girls just understand him more than boys who tease him.
A girl who wears black could be mourning the death of someone she loves most, or maybe black's just her way of expressing herself.

The message I'm trying to get across to you is this; Don't judge a person by their looks.

BEST QUOTES:
"Judging a person does not define WHO THEY ARE,
It defines WHO YOU ARE."

Top 7 Money Saving Motivations

No one says no to a bulkier bank account, so say a big “hello!” to our list of money saving motivations. In the current economic climate many of us are feeling the pinch, so here are seven handy ways to boost your bank account:
Money saving motivation 1: Create a spreadsheet
Instead of constantly trying to work things out in your head and making rough estimates on how much money you have left for the month, make things a whole lot easier by creating a spreadsheet.  At first glance, these can seem a little daunting but it’s really easy once you get used to it and there are many free spreadsheet websites online which work out all the sums for you. By having your outgoings on a list in front of you, you can identify what you’re saving on and what you perhaps need to cut back on.
Money saving motivation 2: Avoid shopping when you’re feeling emotional... or hungry
You’re feeling a little down in the dumps but you need a new work shirt... bad idea. Turn around, get back inside the house, lock the doors, and ask someone to hide your keys right now—if you’re feeling emotional there’s a high chance you will end up splurging on stuff you don’t really need to give you a quick happiness boost. After spending five minutes looking for a shirt, you return with a few tins of paint to re-vamp the house, a new wardrobe of clothes, and a mop for the kitchen floor, but the new work shirt is nowhere to be seen.
Whilst these spur-of-the-moment purchases may uplift your mood for an hour or two, the initial high will soon wear off and you’ll be left feeling worse as you realize you’re left with nothing more than a few bargains and an empty bank account. For a thriftier approach to shopping, go when you’re in a pretty good mood and—whatever you do—don’t shop for groceries when you’re hungry.
Money saving motivation tip 3: Surround yourself with exciting hobbies and positive people
Rather than spending money on takeaways and meals out to cheer you up after a long hard day, identify other things you like doing that will boost your mood instead of spending money. Arrange some fun things to do with family and friends around your house or take up a new hobby such as gardening or crafts. We often end up spending more when we’re bored, emotional, and/or lonely so plan a film night with your family or buy a few ingredients from the grocery store and try cooking something you’ve never made before.
Money saving motivation 4: Save little and often
It’s a common mistake to think that you can’t start saving because you don’t have much money, but that’s like saying you won’t go on that one-hour run because you don’t have the whole day off to exercise—it’s counterproductive and unrealistic. Experts advise that the best way to boost your bank balance is by taking the ‘little and often’ approach to saving. Rather than putting a lump sum of your month’s wages into a savings account and leaving very little to live off for the rest of the month, just put a small amount away as often as possible and the money will mount up without you even noticing it. The more you see your bank balance rising, the more you will want to keep adding to it. Go on, try it—it’s addictive.

Money saving motivation tip 5: Put some money aside for pleasure
It’s important to treat yourself occasionally to avoid getting frustrated and spending all your savings at once, so make sure you include a little “happy time” money in your budget to treat yourself every now and again. Do you want a new television for the living room? Save up for one. Fancy a small break somewhere nice? Save up for it. Once you’ve saved up for something and reached your target amount, you’ll feel much better than you would if you spent money that you didn’t really have in the first place.
Money saving motivation 6: Read a finance blog or make your own
Personal finance blogs are becoming an increasingly popular form of inspiration for many people; they can encourage you to save and adopt good financial habits in the process. It’s also really interesting to take a sneaky peak into the lives of other people and see what they enjoy the odd splurge on. If you’re feeling really brave, you could create your own finance blog to share your own tips and advice with others. This will not only help you to network with other people in the same financial mindset as you, but it will encourage you to save more so that you can feel extra proud of yourself when you share how well you’re doing with others.
Money saving motivation 7: Get support
If you’re really feeling the pinch and you need advice, don’t feel ashamed to seek support from others. You may feel like a little fish in a big pond when it comes to finances, so seek advice from a financial expert who will have a lot of experience dealing with problems like yours. Your financial adviser will come up with a realistic plan to help you sort out any money difficulties

How to Become a Millionaire Before 30

So your ambition in life is to be a millionaire before you turn 30! Fabulous.
It’s a great ambition. It is not difficult, but it is not that easy either, as you might very well know. There are many routes that people take to become a millionaire – betting on horses, gambling, investing in real estate, winning a lottery, becoming an entrepreneur. Some rely on luck while some work hard for it. Luck is fleeting, rare, but hard work pays, hundred percent. So, how do you become a millionaire? Here’s how:

Earnings from your job

Obviously you need a steady stream of income to build your million. The more money you earn, the quicker the journey to your milestone will be. But that doesn’t mean you can get there on a Government salary. It has to be substantial.

Know your limits

You have to know your limits. You obviously cannot spend more than you make. That’s a financial suicide. If you can’t afford to buy that Sedan, don’t. Buy a hatch. If you can’t afford to eat at fancy restaurants, start cooking at home. If traveling by your vehicle is expensive, switch to public transport. You don’t have to turn into a pauper, just practice smart living. Quit getting magazines you don’t read; get rid of the internet connection if you don’t use it that often. You use it at work anyway. Switch to prepaid connection if you’re on a postpaid mobile plan. Get rid of that credit card so you never get tempted into buying stuff on an impulse. When you shop, shop in bulk. Quit buying the newest gadgets. Basically, live a lifestyle that you can afford.

Save Money

Just making money won’t suffice. You need a savings plan. Don’t leave it for too late. The longer you save the more money you will end up with. Don’t think of saving after you’ve paid all your bills. Set aside a percentage of your salary every week or every month and put that money into a separate account and refrain from getting an ATM card. That way you will think twice before withdrawing money.

Make good investments

Make sound investment decisions. Listen to news, read the papers, talk to knowledgeable people and seek their advice on investments. You can even seek services of an investment agency. Invest in a diversified portfolio and be consistent. Maybe a systematic investment plan or SIP. You can even look at mutual funds, stocks, shares etc. Make sure you have the ability to take risks because you will win some and you will lose some. Buy land or gold or flats if you have that kind of cash. It will appreciate over a period of time and you can sell it off later to make a good profit.

Start your own business

You can turn into an entrepreneur even, investing your money into growing your business. If the idea is good and you’re a good manager, you will be able to make quite a bit of money. Always keep looking at avenues to increase your income.

Your hobby could make you rich

If you have a hobby like stamp collection or comic books collection (in mint condition), antiques or original paintings, or any collector’s items. They could fetch a great amount if you decide to auction them.

Get married

By marrying a working woman, you not only double your salary but also your savings.
Becoming a millionaire is not easy, or else all of us would be one. It is tough. It needs planning and perseverance. If you’re willing to put in hard work over a period of time, you will be rewarded.

  • Submit their employees' photos for their Health Card. If the photo-taking is not done at the Health Department, the ID provided will be a "white" Health Card, and not a self-laminated card This card is good only for one year, while the self-laminated card has provisions for 3 years use.

*My Personal Opinion

I don't know for some reasons, why other City Health Department requires exclusivity of having the stool and sputum specimen RESULTS should be from their own Laboratory & they will not accept results from other private laboratories. Although these private laboratories has also accreditation from DOH and is licensed and professionals. In fact, its more cheaper service fees than the other City Health Department. I have a friend who is newly hire from a prestigious Fast Food Company and has a requirement to submit a medical examination (CHEST-PA X-RAY, HEPA-A, URINE, & STOOL) and also a HEALTH CARD issuance from the City Health Office. of course my friend is looking for a laboratory where he could save and desired to have at least discount. He was referred indeed to a private laboratory and were able to have a discount privilege. After getting the result, he went to the City Health Office for Issuance of his Health Card, unfortunately, the results of the STOOL and  URINE was not accepted and were advised to  have another test (Stool and Urine) in their laboratory in which my friend has no choice to pay again and was more expensive than what he paid to that private lab as mentioned earlier.

• Is there any difference between Private Lab and Government Lab results...?
• Is this how we help the less fortunate Filipinos?

We Filipinos should help other Filipinos to succeed especially the less privilege people.
